Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets, approx. 6 oz (170 g) each
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter
- 1 tsp (5 ml) kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp (8 g) chopped fresh dill or parsley
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Cedar plank for grilling (optional)
Instructions
1. Combine maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, and butter in a small bowl; whisk until smooth to make the glaze.
2. Pat salmon fillets dry and season lightly with salt and pepper. If using cedar plank, soak plank in water 30 minutes and preheat grill to medium-high; otherwise preheat grill to medium-high or oven to 425°F (220°C).
3. Brush salmon lightly with glaze. If grilling on a plank, place fillets skin-side down on the cedar plank and grill covered over indirect medium heat 10–14 minutes until opaque and flaking, brushing with remaining glaze halfway through.
4. If grilling without a plank, oil the grill grates and grill fillets skin-side down 4–6 minutes, flip, brush with glaze, and cook 3–5 more minutes until done. For oven roasting, place fillets on a lined baking sheet, roast 8–12 minutes, glazing once midway.
5. Remove salmon from heat, let rest 2 minutes, sprinkle with chopped dill, and serve with lemon wedges.
