- 1 lb (454 g) ground beef - 3 cups (720 ml) cooked white rice - 2 cups (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese - 2 cups (150 g) broccoli florets
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and break into pieces. Cook, stirring and pressing pieces to brown, until beef is fully cooked and some juices collect in the pan, about 8–10 minutes. 2. Move the cooked beef to one side of the skillet. Add the broccoli florets to the empty side of the pan and cover the skillet; cook until broccoli is tender-crisp, about 4–6 minutes, stirring once and allowing the broccoli to steam in the pan juices. 3. Mix the broccoli and beef together in the skillet and keep over low heat to stay warm while you portion the rice. 4. Divide the cooked rice among 4 bowls or plates (about 3/4 cup cooked rice per serving). 5. Spoon equal portions of the beef-and-broccoli mixture over the rice. 6. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar over each portion and cover the bowls or use a lid on the skillet briefly so the cheese melts, about 1–2 minutes. Serve immediately.
